Correspondence opening with the interior of Africa
Summary
Unsigned newspaper clipping from unidentified issue of the New York "Evangelist" about Arabic manuscripts procured [by T.D.] from Liberian President Stephen Allen Benson and former Liberian President Joseph J. Roberts which were translated by Isaac Bird. Article also reports that a shipment of books had arrived that had been printed from American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions' press in Beirut, Lebanon on the orders by Syrian missionary Reverend Daniel Bliss to be shipped to Liberia with additional questions in Arabic with an invitation to encourage further correspondence.
