Carol Rumens was born in Forest Hill, South London in 1944. She is the author of 14 poetry collections, including Unplayed Music (1981), winner of the Alice Hunt Bartlett Award; Icon Waves (1986); and Blind Spots (2008). Her honors include a Cholomandeley Award and a fellowship from the Royal Society of Literature, and she won the National Poetry Competition in 2001 with her poem “Stay in Touch.” Carol Rumens currently teaches at the University of Wales, Bangor and the University of Hull.
