Judith Moffett was born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1942. A poet, science fiction novelist, translator, and literary critic, she is the author of four poetry collections, four novels, and several nonfiction and translated works. She has been honored with fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and received the Swedish Academy’s Translation Prize. Moffett was also awarded the first-ever Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award for best short science fiction story. She currently divides her time between her homes in Ohio and Kentucky.
